At a time when there were very few successful female painters in this arena, Gentileschi was the first woman to become a member of the Accademia di Arte del Disegno in Florence and had an international clientele. Her accomplishments were overshadowed by her rape and subsequent trial. We’ll take a look at the genius and bravery of this Renaissance artist.
